This calculator uses the 2009 CKD-EPI creatinine equation to estimate renal function and automatically assigns the CKD G stage. The layout is arranged with inputs on the left and results on the right for easier clinical use.
How to use the calculator
- Enter serum creatinine, age, sex, and race in the eGFR section above.
- The default creatinine unit is µmol/L. Use the slider if you need to switch to mg/dL.
- Click Calculate eGFR to get the estimated GFR and CKD G stage.
- If albuminuria data is available, continue to the lower section and enter ACR(Albumin-to-Creatinine Ratio) or AER(Albumin Excretion Rate).
- Click Calculate Albuminuria + KDIGO to get the A category, CGA stage, and KDIGO 2012 prognosis.

Patient Information
µmol/L
mg/dL
Default unit in Malaysia is µmol/L. Slide to switch unit.
For use in Malaysia, the correct default is Non-Black. The Black coefficient is intended for African / African-American populations only.
Equation used:
eGFR = 141 × min(Scr/κ, 1)α × max(Scr/κ, 1)-1.209 × 0.993Age × 1.018 (if female) × 1.159 (if black)
eGFR = 141 × min(Scr/κ, 1)α × max(Scr/κ, 1)-1.209 × 0.993Age × 1.018 (if female) × 1.159 (if black)
View variable details
Where Scr is serum creatinine (in mg/dl), κ is 0.7 for females and 0.9 for males, α is -0.329 for females and -0.411 for males, min indicates the minimum of Scr/κ or 1, and max indicates the maximum of Scr/κ or 1.

Albuminuria Category and KDIGO 2012 Prognosis
This section is optional. Calculate eGFR first, then continue here if albuminuria data is available.
Choose one measurement type from the CKD guideline: ACR(Albumin-to-Creatinine Ratio) in mg/g, ACR in mg/mmol, or AER(Albumin Excretion Rate) in mg/24h.
Albuminuria grading used: A1 normal to mildly increased, A2 moderately increased, A3 severely increased.
